Night Ch2

The Jews are packed in small cattle cars and everyone is hungry and thirsty. Barley no one can sit down and the living conditions are so unbearable. The germans nail the Jews into the trains and threaten to shoot anyone who breaks the rules. The Jews start to go crazy and loose their minds. The best example of this is Madame Schachter.

Madame Shachter is with her ten year old son on the train and she starts screaming "Fire." There is no visible fire, and she just scares all the rest of the Jews. She is bond down and gaged so she can not scream anymore. She eventually breaks out of her bond and starts to scream again. This time, she is beaten into silence. the Jews have no idea what is in store for them, but most of them try to stay optimistic.

Days and nights go by, and the Jews on the train see a sign the says Auschwitz. None of the Jews knows what this means because none of them have ever heard of it before. Madame Schachter starts yelling again and the Jews ask to take her to a hospital, but are not allowed. Jews then hear that in the station, they will be treated well and kindly, so they start to get all excited hoping that it wont be as bad as they expected. It turns out the were totally wrong, and there was a foul smell in the air of buring flesh and dead bodies and fire. The jews were now at a concentration camp, one were many were going to die.

Night ch. 1-2

Night starts out as a peaceful story of a Jewish community in Sighet, but eventually turns into a horrilbe nightmare. Elie is a young boy living in Sighet and he meets a man nicknamed Moshe de Beadle and befriends him. Moshe de Beadle prays with Elie and teaches him about religion.

Later, police come and kick out all foreign Jews, and Moshe de Beadle is one. He is taking out and was forced to build drenches for the German army with many other people. After he was done, everyone was shot but Moshe managed to escape and get back to Sighet. He tried to warn everyone that danger was coming but no one would listen to him. The German army took over Elie's town and at first seemed very nice. Eventually, they forced Elie and many other out of their homes and pushed them into the little ghetto.

They were not allowed to take any valuable possesions and had to wear the yellow star of David on their shirts so the Germans knew they were Jewish. They were then transported out of the little ghetto in little caravans full of eighty people. The Germans assigned someone leader and if anyone escaped they were shot. They had no clue they were going but wherever it was it wasnt good.
